It’s been a long trip from CA to MI: we’re officially in possession of our new house…but our worldly possessions don’t arrive until tomorrow, so we’re still in a hotel and still (to my dismay) eating out 3 meals a day. Can’t wait to get back to the kitchen! And I am VERY excited about trying out my new convection oven….
In the meantime, here is a great blog post by John Hershey of RakishWit.com, a plug for one of my favorite veggies from a gardener’s perspective: “In Defense of Beets.” It would have been timely to add something about Obama’s current visit to Russia, where this vegetable reigns supreme. Maybe our president could even pretend to like them in the interest of promoting stronger bonds between our countries?
